What is the best tool to learn, clarinet or saxophone?
Ive just started school (in year 7) and IM will play either clarinet or saxophone for the school orchestra, one of which is easier and funnies to start learning? What are the main differences between the two instruments??? THANKS! 
I played two saxophones and is much easier and more fun to learn. The clarinet is extremely difficult because of fingering open holes. It is also difficult to reach the upper register. The saxophone fingering easy, and it is easy to play up and down the horn. If you want its all good on the clarinet you have to devote a large amount of time and effort while the saxophone, the other is very easy to and easy to play a good sound without spending three hours on practice days. I would say you should start the alto saxophone. It is easier to blow and forefinger then the tenor. With other saxophone (baritone, soprano, etc.) if you intend to play outside your school so he can be a bit more difficult find partitions.
